The July funding goal came down to the wire — and the community pulled it across the line just in time. Here's what that secures, what's moving next, and how to keep an eye on SindriCAD and TinkerView.
<p class="mb 2" <strong We Made It: The July Funding Goal Is Secured</strong </p <p class="mb 2" We crossed the line. With the July cycle down to its final days and the meter sitting just past halfway, I genuinely wasn't sure we'd get there. But the community showed up — and we made it, with barely any runway to spare. Thank you. This platform runs on that, and this month it showed.</p <p class="mb 2" <strong What this secures</strong </p <p class="mb 2" Servers were never really the question this month; those were covered early, so the platform was staying online no matter what. The piece hanging in the balance was the dev tools tier — the part that keeps active development moving rather than just keeping the lights on. That's now secured. In plain terms: the building doesn't stop.</p <p class="mb 2" <strong What that keeps moving</strong </p <p class="mb 2" The dev tools funding goes straight into the work already in motion. SindriCAD — the parametric CAD app I've been building — and TinkerView, the self hosted homelab and printer hub, are both progressing steadily. Neither is finished yet, but both now have their own pages on the site, and you can join the waitlist to be first in line when they open up:</p <p class="mb 2" SindriCAD: tinkeratlas.com/sindricad<br TinkerView: tinkeratlas.com/tinkerview</p <p class="mb 2" If you want to keep an eye on where this is heading, that's the place to do it.</p <p class="mb 2" <strong Why community funding, still</strong </p <p class="mb 2" The model doesn't change as it is now, but I am looking to find business sponsors to offload the need for community funding. Still no ads. No VC money steering the roadmap. No selling your data to make the numbers work — SindriCAD is even going out open source. Support here isn't a tax on using the platform; the goal is for it to feel like you're getting real value back. And TinkerAtlas will always have a robust free tier, because accessible maker communities are the whole point. If you can chip in, you're funding new features and the continued existence of this space. If the free tier is where you live, that's completely fine.</p <p class="mb 2" <strong What's next</strong </p <p class="mb 2" Funding runs in monthly cycles, so a new one is already underway. Making one goal doesn't bank the next — it just buys the momentum to keep going. If TinkerAtlas has been worth something to you and you'd like to help keep the build moving, a one time chip in is the easiest way:</p <p class="mb 2" PayPal: paypal.me/makerviking<br Ko fi: <a target=" blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="text blue 600 hover:text blue 800 dark:text blue 400 dark:hover:text blue 200 underline cursor pointer transition colors" href="http://ko fi.com/tinkeratlas" ko fi.com/tinkeratlas</a <br Or by joining TinkerAtlas+ to be a continued supporter: <a target=" blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="text blue 600 hover:text blue 800 dark:text blue 400 dark:hover:text blue 200 underline cursor pointer transition colors" href="https://tinkeratlas.com/pricing" https://tinkeratlas.com/pricing</a </p <p class="mb 2" To everyone who donated, shared, or just cheered from the sidelines this month — thank you. Back to building.</p
