Native subscriptions are here. Extended posts, XP boosts, profile customization, and more built right into TinkerAtlas to finally give supporters real platform perks.
<p class="mb 2" Hey everyone,</p <p class="mb 2" Today I'm excited to share something we've been working on for a while: native Supporter subscriptions, built right into TinkerAtlas.</p <h2 class="font bold" Why Build This?</h2 <p class="mb 2" Here's the thing for the past year, support for TinkerAtlas has come through Patreon, which I'm genuinely grateful for. But there was always this frustrating limitation: I had no way to actually give back to supporters with real platform perks. Patreon is great for supporting creators, but it sits outside the platform itself. I couldn't reward supporters with extended posts, XP boosts, or profile customization the very features that would make supporting TinkerAtlas feel more tangible.</p <p class="mb 2" So we built a native subscription system. That's the lifetime early supporter tier for people who believed in TinkerAtlas from the very beginning, and the perk was the badge and knowing that the site had money to continue running servers and development for a while, and I will continue to award those who donate a one time sum as well, for a little while longer at least. This Supporter subscription is the ongoing option for anyone who wants to help sustain servers and development and get perks in return.</p <h2 class="font bold" The Honest Part</h2 <p class="mb 2" Building TinkerAtlas sustainably means having a funding model that works long term. Server costs like hosting, databases and other services, development tools, security monitoring these are real ongoing expenses. But here's what matters to me: I don't want support to feel like paying a tax to use the platform. I want it to feel like you're getting real value back.</p <p class="mb 2" If you choose to become a Supporter, thank you. You're directly funding new features, better infrastructure, gear for better content creation, and the continued existence of this space we're building together.</p <p class="mb 2" If the free tier works for you, that's completely fine. TinkerAtlas will always have a robust free tier because I believe in accessible maker communities.</p <h3 class="font bold" What's Next</h3 <p class="mb 2" This is the foundation. Once we see how this goes, there are more features I'd love to add for supporters things like custom reactions, post templates, and advanced profile stats.
