Hey everyone!Okay, so I've got some awesome news to share. Thanks to all of you amazing Founding Members, we've officially hit our monthly base funding goal! πThe Boring (But Important) Stuff is CoveredYou know all those unsexy but absolutely necessary things that keep TinkerAtlas running? Server costs, development tools, that one API that charges way too much but we kinda need it anyway? Yeah, all of that is now covered. No more me nervously checking the hosting bill and doing math on napkins. This means TinkerAtlas is officially secured for this months payment. We can keep the lights on, the servers humming, and I can keep pushing updates without wondering if I can afford to keep the site running next month. That's huge! But Wait, There's More (Because Of Course There Is)So here's where it gets interesting. We're now $500 into our first stretch goal, and I'm pretty excited about this one.The Goal: Camera Gear for Content CreationHere's the thing. I want to expand the content on TinkerAtlas beyond just platform updates. I'm planning to start doing product reviews, you know, the kind that actually help you decide if that new hotend is worth it or if that filament dryer is just an expensive box with a fan. That includes some video content too. And who knows what the future brings. But whatever direction we go, I need better gear than my ancient phone camera. You know the one. It's the phone that makes everything look like it was shot through a potato. In 2015. During a dust storm.Okay, okay, I'm exaggerating for dramatic effect. The phone camera isn't THAT bad. But when you're trying to show the difference between a 0.2mm and 0.1mm layer height, or capture the actual color of that silk filament, "not that bad" doesn't really cut it. We need "actually good." It also saves on post-processing time in Photoshop, and Davinci for video content to make it look half decent etc. Another thing is that video needs good audio quality and lighting, so that is what the rest of the stretch goal is for. A huge thanks to everyone that has contributed to the site, and that you all believe in me and my project is incredibly motivating! What This Could MeanWith proper camera equipment, I could create:Detailed product reviews where you can actually see print quality differencesVideo content that doesn't require you to squint and guessBetter photos for articles and platform updatesWhatever other content types make sense as we growThe possibilities are pretty open, and I'm excited to see where it goes. The main thing is having the tools to make whatever content we create actually good. How You Can HelpIf you want to see more and better content on TinkerAtlas and can support us, every dollar gets us closer to reviews that actually help instead of just being "yep, it's definitely... a thing." Those who support us get that sweet Founding Member badge and border on your posts as a thank you.The Bottom LineWe've proven this community is something special. We funded the basics together, and now we get to make it even better. Whether you can support or not, thank you for being part of this. Seriously.Check out the Founding Members page if you want to help us hit this stretch goal. When the reviews start rolling in with photos that don't look like they were taken with a calculator, you'll know we made it. LolLet's keep building!π§ Thomas / MakerVikingP.S. - When I do get that camera, the first review will definitely include at least one intentionally terrible photo. For the memories. (This is a joke of course)
