It's been just over two weeks since the last update, and honestly, it feels like it's been two months. The amount of work that's gone into TinkerAtlas since January 29th has been relentless — new features, security hardening, a full Git hosting system, and a codebase cleanup that was long overdue, which I'm still haven't quite finished. Let's get into it.We Hit Our Funding Goal — With Over a Week to SpareBefore we talk development work, let's talk community. Our funding month runs from the 19th to the 19th, and this cycle we hit our operational funding goal with more than a week left on the clock. That's incredible, and it's entirely because of you.I've personally reached out to thank every single contributor — except one. There was a donation through PayPal from someone whose name I didn't recognize, and I wasn't able to send them a message. If that's you, please reach out to me on TinkerAtlas or any platform where we're connected. I am deeply grateful, and I'd love to thank you properly.Every contribution keeps TinkerAtlas running and independent. No ads. No investors pulling strings. Just makers supporting a platform built for makers. The Stretch Goal: Funding the StudioWith our base goal covered, we do have a stretch goal — funding the studio. Better equipment means better content across the board: higher quality articles, proper video production, and improved streams (yes, I plan to continue doing that!). If you've been thinking about supporting TinkerAtlas, this is a great time to push us closer to that next level. What We've Built Since January 29thGit Hosting — Early PreviewOne of the biggest things we've been building is native Git hosting for TinkerAtlas projects. You can already see it in action on Racoutlaw's KlipperXL project — a full file browser, README display, download tracking, activity charts, dark mode support, and archive downloads, all right on the project page. No external links, no juggling between platforms. Your project files, documentation, and design sources — all in one place.Right now this is in an early pilot phase while we work out the details. Git hosting requires dedicated infrastructure that adds to our operational costs, so we're taking the time to figure out the best way to roll it out sustainably. We're currently exploring making it available as a TinkerAtlas+ feature, which would help offset those costs and keep the platform healthy for everyone. Nothing is set in stone yet — we want to get it right. But the foundation is built, and we're excited about where this is heading. You can see it in action on the KlipperXL project.Gift Subscriptions for TinkerAtlas+You can now gift a TinkerAtlas+ subscription to another maker. Simple as that. If someone in the community has been helpful, inspiring, or you just want to spread some love — now you can. Also, I will turn on free trial of TinkerAtlas+ soon, I just need to get to it. Image Uploads Got a Major UpgradeUploading images across TinkerAtlas is now significantly smoother. We added GIF and PNG support across all upload forms, drag-and-drop and paste support for images, and proper image cropping for project covers. Small changes that make a big difference in the day-to-day experience.Link shortenerA new admin-powered link shortener with built-in analytics and QR code generation. This helps us share cleaner, trackable links across social media and in print — useful for contests, campaigns, and community events.Deals & DiscountsA new system for surfacing deals and discounts relevant to makers, complete with an admin dashboard for managing them. More to come on this as we build it out.Post and Comment Drafts That Actually StickEver started writing a post, or a comment, switched tabs, and lost everything? Not anymore. Post drafts now persist — including images — even when you navigate away. Your work stays right where you left it.SEO and DiscoverabilityWe rolled out multiple waves of SEO improvements: cleaner URLs, proper metadata, structured data for search engines, and category pillar pages. The goal is simple — when someone searches for maker content, TinkerAtlas should show up.Under the HoodA lot of work went into things you won't see directly but absolutely matter. We ran a full security sweep across the platform, hardened how the app handles requests, cleaned up the email system, squashed privacy-related bugs, improved achievement tracking, and — in one particularly satisfying session — removed over 60 dead or duplicate code routes and cleared out unused pages and components. The codebase is leaner, faster, and easier to build on going forward. What's NextThe momentum isn't slowing down. Git hosting opens up a lot of possibilities for how makers share and collaborate on projects, and there's more to build on top of it. Streaming is back, the studio stretch goal gives us something to push toward together, and the platform keeps getting more solid with every update.Thank you for being here. Thank you for building, sharing,
